What Is the Process for Selecting Rising Stars?

To be named a Rising Star, a lawyer must first be nominated by their peers. Then they must go through the Super Lawyer selection process. This is a rigorous process involving a strict rubric and 12 evaluation points. Only the best is ultimately chosen, which leaves a group of unchosen lawyers who will then be evaluated for the Rising Star criteria.

To be eligible to be a Rising Star, you must not have been chosen as a Super Lawyer. Still, you must have been in practice for ten or fewer years and be 40 years old or younger. If you meet these criteria, you will then go through another selection process that has been geared explicitly toward Rising Star candidates. Just 2.5% of lawyers in the state are ultimately named as Rising Stars.
